Shoals Flows Green: What Makes a Sustainable Community?

June 6, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The Shoals community is on a “flow”. What color will we be flowing in the future? Shoals Creativity has a few ideas and would like to hear yours!

With growing interest in sustainability, the Shoals area of Northwest Alabama is becoming a hotspot of sorts for all things green. But what does it mean to be a sustainable commuity? And what is a “Triple Bottom Line”?

Join us for a casual panel discussion with Alabama thought leaders on the subject and help develop your network of connections for a Sustainable Shoals.

Panelists include:

– USGBC Alabama Director Kathleen Kirkpatrick
– Energy Alabama CEO Daniel Tait,
– University of North Alabama Director Center for Sustainability, Dr. Amanda Coffman
– University of North Alabama Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Carmen Burkhalter

Bring your questions, ideas, and enthusiasm for Sustainability to this FREE community event. Please RSVP so we can ensure seats are available for all who are interested.

Not available for the event but want to find out how you can be part of the sustainable community? Contact Kathleen Kirkpatrick at kkirkpatrick@usgbc.org to schedule a time to meet on Monday, June 6.

This event is brought to you by Shoals Creativity, USGBC Alabama, Energy Alabama, and UNA. Many Thanks to the Visitor’s Center for hosting!
